Now, under the leadership of the Chairman, Mr. Ramnath G. Kare, the group has taken rapid strides towards becoming a comprehensive pharmaceutical group matching global standards through International standard manufacturing facilities. This progress has been achieved through acquisitions and development of new manufacturing facilities. The first plant, DCI Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., was started in 1971 in Margao, Goa.

In 1997, the Group set up a new manfacturing plant, Kare Labs Pvt. Ltd. at Verna, Goa for an investment of Rs 150 million. This facility is state of the art and has been approved by multinational companies like Abbott, E-Merck and Aventis, besides leading Indian Companies.

The group comprises of 3 manufacturing companies, DCI Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., Kare Labs Pvt. Ltd. and Motiff Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. The Group has high volumes capacities and manufactures formulations in dosage forms including, Tablets (Plain, Sugar & Film coated), Ointments/Creams/gels. Liquid orals, Injectables, Ophthalmic and Ear Drops. Capsules (Beta-Lactum & Non-Beta Lactum), Beta-Lactum Dispersible Tablets, Beta Lactum Liquid orals. Dry Syrups, External Lotions, External Dusting Powders. All facilities are equipped with sophisticated Machinery and manned by highly qualified personnel. Kare Labs Pvt. Ltd. and DCI Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. are certified under the WHO GMP certification scheme.

Currently, the group is primarily engaged in Contract Manufacturing Activities for reputed Multinational and Indian Companies like Abbott, Cipla group, Ranbaxy, Morepen Laboratories, Wockhardt, Nicholas Piramal, Indoco Remedies, etc. Some products of the group are being supplied to Central Government Hospitals, AFMSDs, State and semi-Government Institutions, etc. It is also exporting its products to some of the neighboring countries.

As part of its expansion and growth strategy to focus on the Healthcare area, the group has entered into the pharmaceutical formulations marketing field. Towards this goal, a new company Kare Health Specialities Pvt. Ltd. was created to function as the marketing division of the Kare Group. This company primarily focuses on speciality therapy areas in both domestic and export markets. These speciality products should provide a good potential in the long term. The group plans to develop and introduce new quality products through both in-house product development as well as external collaborations. Our aim is to become a strong player in both domestic and export pharmaceutical / healthcare markets in the years to come.

The group is managed professionally and is proud to have the backing of a young and dynamic team with sound marketing, technical, financial and commercial expertise and having good experience of working with multinational and reputed Indian companies.

The Kare Group of Companies have a strong committment to social and educational causes and has donated large sums of this purpose, over the years. In memory of the founder, the Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law was established in Margao in 1978.
